Have you been looking for an affordable and time-saving program to train your staff? NAPBA proudly announces the kick-off of a new program for Employee Benefit Professionals and Staff!

Every month NAPBA will be hosting a Tele-Seminar on topics including HIPAA, Rules of COBRA, Section 125, Reimbursement Accounts, Flex Plans, HSAs, and HRAs. The programs will be geared toward different levels of knowledge.

Description of the Certification programs at NAPBA Purpose: 

  • To Provide Benefit Professional Firms with the ability to train their staff in an affordable manner and with a method to evaluate new and existing staff’s knowledge of the subject manner (Limit Firms Liability from poorly trained individuals).
  • To Provide Benefit Professionals with an on-going cost effective training option
  • To help ensure integrity in the Employee Benefit Community by providing a code of ethics for each certified professional

Method:
Use of both on-site training sessions (add a half-day of basic training on specific subjects during Educational Seminars) and Teleweb Seminars (Scheduled at routine times during the month or make available on a recorded basis).  Testing to be provided on-line and during on-site training sessions.  Certificate provided with 80% score or above.   Provide test scores, including missed questions to Supervisor/Manager to address remedial training.

Certifications:


Section 125 Cafeteria Plans (Specialist in Cafeteria Plan Admin – SCPA)

Reimbursement Accounts – FSA, HRA, HSA’s , Transportation Plans, Premium Reimbursement, Adoption Assistance, Education Assistance (Specialist in Reimbursement Account Admin – SRAA)

Employee Benefit Designs (Specialist in Employee Benefit Designs – SEBD)- includes understanding of various health plan designs including CDHC, Voluntary Benefits, New Benefits on the horizon (i.e. Identity theft Insurance)

COBRA Administration (Specialist in COBRA Administration – SCA)

ERISA/Federal Mandates – (Specialist in ERISA/Federal Mandates for Health Pans – SEFM) – would limit to areas that affect Employer Benefit plans that are not Pension or Pension Related.  Could include FMLA, USERRA, HIPAA, etc.

    Sales/Marketing Employee Benefit Services (Specialist in Marketing of Employee Benefit Services –SMEBS)
